Cortese sisters sing again!

Dámaris and her sisters sang together for years. Then, marriages, re-locations and families happened, so now, unfortunately, it is rare for them to all be in the same room. It is even rarer for them to get a chance to sing. Thankfully, our dear friend Jackie got it all on her phone!

At a retreat for Manhattan Grace Tabernacle, JoAnne Hammerly, Dámaris Carbaugh and Deborah Rivera spontaneously grabbed some mics and did a beautiful rendition of "Now I Belong to Jesus." Enjoy this rare opportunity. Video credit J. Oberst

How can we find our way through this constantly changing world with its distractions, confusion and traps? Which path is God's path for us? Dámaris teaches through a favorite passage, Proverbs 3:5-8, where the writer challenges us in our daily choices, with healing and refreshment as the outcome.

We just returned from a women's conference in a beautiful church in Monterrey, Mexico. Dámaris shared the platform with another Mexican speaker now living in San Diego. Dámaris spoke on the 23rd Psalm in two sessions... in Spanish, of course. Below is the link to listen to the sessions, and a little slide show. The church, La Vid, is pastored by a childhood friend, Rev. David Orozco, and the women's ministry is headed up by his wife, Myrthala. If you understand Spanish, enjoy listening. New Message: Obedience is Better Than Sacrifice

Using a variety of scriptural references and even a reference to baseball, Dámaris explains the importance that God places on obedience. She also shines a light on the many ways that disobedience may be happening in our lives, and what provisions the Bible offers us to make those hard choices to obey, bringing glory to God. New Message: The definition of ministry

Dámaris spoke at a sweet women's conference this morning at Grace Mennonite Church in Lansdale, PA. Borrowing from the brilliant Bible scholar, author and teacher, Warren W. Wiersbe, Dámaris elaborated on his definition of ministry. In his wonderful book, On Being a Servant of God, Warren Wiersbe wrote, "Ministry takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God." In her own way, Dámaris walked us through each section of that definition and showed us what that can look like each day of our lives.

What Overwhelms You?
At a women's conference held at her brother's church, Dámaris talked about being overwhelmed. "If we are not overwhelmed by the greatness of God, we will drown in the insignificant." Including a lightning overview of the first eleven chapters of Romans, she describes how God made a way for us Gentiles to receive His salvation and that has resulted in His mercy towards everyone!
